In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relation establishment of China and Cote d’ivore, “Into West Africa—Contemporary Chinese Traditional Painting Exhibition”, jointly sponsored by China Artists Association (CAA), Chinese Embassy in Cote d’ivore and Ministry of Culture and Francophone Affairs of Cote d’ivore , was held at La Rotonde des Arts in Abidjan, capital of Cote d’ivore from May 21 till June 1. This exhibition involved 40 selected paintings by 40 contemporary Chinese art masters such as Liu Dawei, Wu Changjiang, Long Rui, Xu Qinsong, Yu Zhixue and Jiang Baolin. 

This exhibition is actually part of the series event “World Journey of Chinese Fine Arts”, an international exchange brand event gradually developed by CAA in her active exchange with international counterparts. In the past five years since its establishment, Chinese fine arts exhibitions have been held in more than 20 cities of 7 countries across Europe-Asia continent. During the implementation, CAA has advocated and maintained long-term friendly cooperation with many foreign countries, and counterparts from France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal have jointly staged fine arts exhibition with CAA. As the virgin journey into the vast West African land, CAA made efforts to expand friendly communications with African cultural and art circles, improve scale and depth of China-Cote d’ivore fine arts exchange, and promote understanding and friendship between the two peoples. It is widely believed that this exhibition will become a significant chapter in the bilateral exchange in fine arts and an important step to highlight Chinese fine arts in the global arena.
